Seriously… what do I do? (Guess I could go buy more clothes tomorrow… but what about tomorrow???)

I’ve heard from some unfortunate friends that they actually have managers like this. Luckily I don’t see this happen much in my office. Though I do know some people’s daily work is like a breeze, and going to work is literally like vacation to them since they’re doing their personal stuff most of the day anyway… actually not a bad option for those in their 40s with a family - it’s a decent income and they get ample of time to take care of all the errands. Do I want those jobs? If I’m still working at that age, sure why not. But I really hope I could retire (or doing something I really enjoy) by that age…

Time to burn off those turkey fat!! I had a rather light dinner on Thanksgiving (no turkeys), so I’m all set, thank-you-very-much (just gotta burn of those pre-thanksgiving fat…)

For any of you who don’t know, Wii is the new game console recently released by Nintendo. One of the pack-in features is what they call WiiConnect24 - it’s an network function that keeps your Wii online 24/7, even when you turn it off (which puts it in standby mode). You have the ability to add other users to your address book, given that you know their Console Code. Console Code is a 16-digit number, unique to each unit, that serves as the ID to your Wii. When two users add each other’s Console Code to their address book, they become “mutual friends” (similar to the way DS works), and will be able to send messages and transport Mii (another Wii pack-in feature that allows you to create cartoon-style avatars) to each other’s console.

It’s a neat feature, and Mii creation is suprisingly addictive, but it’s not without a few setbacks. First of all, the network service is extremely unstable. When two users add each other to their address book, it sometimes take only a few minute before you two become mutual friends, while other times it may take several hours before this process gets through. Same problem applies to sending messages. If you’re lucky, your message will go right through… otherwise the messages’ fate depends solely on your Wii’s mood. When the message does come through, the controller will sound, if your console is one, to notify you new message has arrive. If the console is off (standby mode), the CD slot will light up in blue, which looks really nice, especially in the dark.

So that’s that. This also marks the debut of… this… comic-strip thingie… I’ve been drawing these since college, but never officailly made them into full strips. Hopefully going forward there will be more where it came from… if I have time. Still need a name for this comic though…
